18 & Under

Teams are divided by age and play levels falling into one of several age groups: U12, U14, U16 and U18.     Play levels are divided among beginner, intermediate and advanced, all of which are offered at the local       level.

Each year the USTA crowns a national champion in two age divisions (14 & under and 18 & under) in both       the Intermediate and Advanced play divisions. The National Championships serves as the crown jewel of       USTA Jr. Team Tennis as the nation’s top teams compete for the title. This event showcases the very best     elements of tennis: spirited competition, friendship, achievement, sportsmanship and fun. Playing in a         National Championship can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Play is on full size courts using standard       net height, racquets and balls.

As they approach the age of 18 and are finishing high school, many JTT players are recruited by NCAA,         NAIA, & NJCAA programs to play tennis at the collegiate level. For more information on how to best prepare   yourself and your child for the transition to college athletics, please refer to our USTA Guide To Tennis on College Campuses.  Be sure to check out Tennis On Campus for additional play opportunities.
